The objectives of the project is to promote and strengthen the community-based organic farming for the development of livelihood skills and micro-enterprise. Selected farmer/participants were pre-screened by the officers and were briefed on the concepts and scope of the program. The selected site for the demonstration farm is the Purok Sampaguita with an approximate area of .75 hectares and the upper of the lot in Hidden Valley Resort. The classes was scheduled every Saturday from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM(6 hours per day) which started last September 1, 2007. The lecture started with site selection and land preparation. It was followed by cultural management practices which encompasses transplanting, fertilization, crop protection using the environment friendly and home made pesticides. Maturity indeces, post harvest handling and cost and return analysis was also included in the module. A total of thirteen (13) Saturdays including the harvest festival and culmination program on January 12, 2008 was consummated. Fourteen (14) farmers who successfully completed the training course was issued certificates of training by no less than the LMPC General Manager, the Board of Directors, 3B’s Staff, Mr. Namoc from the Department of Agriculture – RFU VII and the Punong Barangay of Lamac. Committed participants with no absences and has showed exemplary performance during the training the training was also awarded certificates of appreciation. A short program and Christmas get-together was done right at the demonstration farm in the said Purok. |

The LMPC Board of Directors approved in banc the season-long training and vegetables utilizing the latest trends and technologies both in the open field and in the greenhouse. An amount of Sixty five thousand pesos (P65,000.00) was allocated for the technical assistance for the trainers who will facilitate and share their expertise on this particular technologies. 3B’s staff represented by Mr. Bebie Gacasan, Bonnie Javier and Ben Berre with CFC friend Brod. Sayong and in coordination with the LMPC staff was tasked to implement the project.
